Amy Freudenburg, Artistic Director Regis Corporation and Freelance Hair Stylist

Amy Freudenberg was born and raised in West Covina, California, a part of
the city of Angels. At age 19, she moved to Hesperia, California, a very
small town outside Los Angeles and began attending Hesperia Beauty School.
At only 19 years old, she, like most of us at that age, was still searching
for direction in her life. Her father worked at Paramount Pictures and he
married a woman, who at the time was a Hairdresser, at Paramount Studios.
Her new step-mom told her, "Finish school and I will get you a job." Amy had
no idea how that would affect her life and career. "I really did not know it
would take me this far at the time!"

Hey, we all start on the bottom rung of the ladder. It is up to you where
you want to go from there. Taking that first step up the ladder is always a
good beginning. Amy took that first step up in Las Vegas, Nevada. What
happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas isn't always true. Amy was thrown into a
Las Vegas Strip Salon that had a Vegas Bridal Chapel right next door, (Funny
how things work out.) Amy ended up doing up to twelve up-do's a day for the
brides to be, in addition to the cuts, color, perms, and more that you pick
up in a fast paced strip salon! As a result, Amy specializes in Up-do's and
now can create a MAD Up-do in minutes!

Amy's favorite work thus far has been the MAD hair creations she did with
Nina Pak Photography, "I was able to get very creative."

And, creative, she was!

Amy has been a educator for 2 years now for Regis Corporation. She teaches
at any salon they own, from the smallest to the largest vogue salons (too
numerous to name). She travels all over the U.S. educating for Regis and is
scheduled to go to China this coming October!

So how did "directionless" Amy get where she is today? Well, while other new
cosmetologist were looking to grab that brass ring of Platform Artist, Amy
saw the opportunities that lies in media. First, Amy created a profile on
Model Mayhem, "I love Model Mayhem!!! I was able to build my portfolio in a
matter of about 4 months. I just did a lot of TFP (Trade for Proofs). I
recommend this site to anyone trying to build a portfolio."

OK how did she work it? Easy! Amy contacted photographers in her area and
offered her services as a MAD Hairstylist to them for a trade for proofs.
What is trade for proofs? Basically, you get access to and crediting for
the photos made of models that you have styled! This is great Free
Advertising and once you have built a portfolio, photographers and other
advertising media, will begin seeking you out! You can then work not only
for the trade for proofs but, you can begin charging for your services. Amy
is a Free-lance Hair Artist as well as an Educator and Artistic Director for
Regis Corporation.

Is Amy happy with her work? You decide, With MADShears, Kenchii's Red
Leopard Shears
in hand, Amy says,

"I am, a passionate, dedicated, focused National Educator for Regis Corp.
Hair is what I do for a living, it isn't a part time job or some hobby I
picked up. I love what I do and cannot imagine doing anything else! I get to
travel the US teaching hair workshops and meet the most wonderful people."

Some of the wonderful people, organizations, and businesses she has met or
worked with include: Paul Mitchell, Ford Model Agency, Nina Pak Photography,
Arturo Rios Hats, Planet Hollywood Magazine, College Affair Magazine,
Paroumont Pictures, Micheal O'Roucke, Sunset Tans, E TV, Vh1's Rock of Love 2
and, it won't end there! Amy continues to freelanceacross the country and we
are sure we will see more of Amy's work because she is truly, a MAD Hair Artist!
